Our sport expert will explain how intense activities such as spin class can irritate your intimate skin and why it is important to protect it and help it to recover.
My intimate area often gets irritated when I practice sport. What can I do about it?
Sweat and heat – caused by exercising or wearing tight clothes and underwear can upset your pH level and cause irritation & itchiness. We recommend to use specific products to moisturise your intimate skin before and after exercising. We also advise to wear cotton underwear instead of synthetic to let your skin breathe.
At SASS, we want you to feel great and to make sure that nothing holds you back. This is why we have developed SASS Sportive, a specific range for women who give everything. Our SASS Protection Barrier Cream will shield your skin and protect it from irritation during exercise, whilst SASS Recovery Serum will cool & comfort your skin after your sport session.
How can I prevent intimate chafing while practising sport?
Certain exercise such as spin classes and running can lead to chafing around the intimate area. While there are many chamois creams available, these are not the correct pH for the female intimate area and their use can lead to intimate imbalances. The SASS Protection Barrier Cream will reduce skin friction and provide ultra-hydration, all whilst maintaining your intimate pH.
Our health expert will talk about intimate dryness & its consequences and how you can treat your intimate area when things don’t feel quite right.
How can I know if I suffer from intimate dryness and what should I do about it?
Discomfort can be external, internal or both. A lot of women realise they suffer from intimate dryness when intercourse become uncomfortable or at the beginning of menopause. A specific feminine moisturiser can help relieve discomfort and make you feel much better.
At SASS, we know that some women may avoid living the life they want because of intimate dryness. This is why we have created an intimate dryness gel that will hydrate, soothe & freshen your skin allowing you to get back on track.
I sometimes suffer from itching around my intimate area... Is it normal?
Yes. Intimate irritation can have different causes; it can happen before or after your periods or when using a general soap/cleanser to wash your intimate area as both can upset your pH level. Wearing synthetic underwear or intense exercise can also have an effect on your intimate skin and can cause irritation. Don’t wait till it becomes an infection. We recommend to use specific intimate cleanser and cream to restore and protect the natural balance of your intimate area.
Any persistent symptoms (lasting longer than a few days), or itching accompanied by a burning sensation, inflammation or losses, indicate that a visit to the doctor is necessary.
At SASS, we promised to always keep you at your best. This is why we have created SASS pH Balanced Serum that will help restore your pH balance and hydrate your intimate skin when things don’t feel quite right.
Consult your doctor if you think you might suffer from an intimate infection.
I thought doctors advise against using intimate washes?
While the intimate area is self-cleaning and just using water is healthy and natural, we found that this wasn’t enough for many women, including ourselves and we were instead turning to unsuitable shower gels and creams. The SASS products are all created to maintain your intimate pH and keep you balanced, helping to prevent infections such as thrush and BV.
Our beauty expert will talk about the importance to use specific washes, intimate shave gels and deodorant to make sure your intimate area gets the attention it needs.
Everybody talks about “pH-balanced” but what does it actually mean and why is it so important?
A pH number measures how acidic or alkali something is on a scale of 0 to 14. When it comes to skin, particularly your intimate area, pH levels do make a difference.
You skin has a pH level of around 5.5 and if you want to protect it and moisturise it, it is recommended to use a cleanser with a pH level similar to that of the skin. However, your intimate skin has a lower pH of about 4.5, which means that you could upset it by using general soaps causing irritation or infections such as thrush. This is why it is highly advised to use a specific cleanser to wash and moisturise your intimate area.
At SASS, we want you to feel at your best and protected. This is why our Intimate Purifying Cleanser, Intimate Freshness Gel and Intimate Refreshing Mist have been specially created to fit your daily routine and respect your intimate harmony day after day.
Can I use a general shave gel for my intimate area?
Shave gels as well as post shave balms are generally not suitable for intimate use, which means they can upset your intimate skin and cause irritation. This is why we recommend to use specific intimate shave & post-shave gels that will respect your most sensitive skin.
At SASS we want to make sure your intimate skin is protected especially when shaving or waxing. This is why we have specially designed a shave gel and a post-shave balm suitable for intimate use. SASS Intimate Soothe & Smooth Shave Gel and SASS Intimate Perfect Skin Concentrate will leave your skin soothed & smoothed whilst respecting your intimate area. You can feel confident that you are taking control.
Why do I get ingrown hairs?
The more we looked into intimate care the more we found there was little choice when it came to the right products to use. While we use products to remove hair and soothe post removal, we didn’t realise that most of these products are not suitable for intimate use. Removing hair through shaving or waxing can lead to a build up of dead skin, which prevents hairs from growing through the skin. The SASS Soothe and Smooth Shave Gel and Perfect Skin Concentrate use Salicylic Acid and Fruit Enzymes to get rid of the dead skin layers that cause ingrown hairs.
